The Guy Daniels Memorial Foundation is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3). Nobody draws a salary. Your gift pays for the camera, and everything above that cost funds the awards.
Where your money goes
The camera has a fixed monthly cost: the hardware, the power and the streaming. HTC donates the internet connection, which is why the running cost stays as low as it does.
Everything raised beyond that cost goes into the scholarship fund. The foundation gives 3 distinct awards each year. See where the awards go.
Why monthly matters more
The camera is a monthly bill, so a monthly gift is worth far more than the same amount given once. Ten people at five dollars a month is the difference between a camera that runs and one that does not.
